Yesterday my man shared a video that came up as a memory on his Facebook from a year ago. This exact time last year we stayed 2 nights in the most incredible glamping accomodation called “Paperbark Camp” in Jervis Bay (do yourself a favour, check it OUT HERE! Pics below!)

As I watched the video memories came rushing back about that getaway. I had booked us this trip because we had been so busy and I had been so stupidly unwell on and off all year that I thought we needed a well deserved break! We were set to leave on Monday morning, the morning after the 2016 Australian Dance Festival. For those who don’t know what ADF is, its a huge weekend that celebrates dance at the Sydney Olympic Park and is packed with classes, Q&A’s & performances. Exhausting as it can be, it’s honestly one of my favourite weekends of the year.

So off we go to sleep Sunday night after a huge two days ready to leave early the following morning. I woke up at 7am with a throat infection, the worst period pain in the world and to top it off, conjunctivitis. Yes… Conjunctivitis.

I wish I was lying but I honestly could not make this shit up if I tried.

Fast forward to this year.

Last weekend was the 2017 ADF. This time it was over 3 days and it was bigger and better than ever! And if it wasn’t for Dave sharing that video yesterday, I think I would have missed the comparison.

I was actually FINE! ME!!! For the first time in my life!!!!! I was the healthy one!!!!

I went to my health coach yesterday and she did all her check ups and she said to me that this is the steadiest my body has ever been. I can’t begin to explain to you guys what this means to me and what an achievement this is for me personally. I have been going to Wendy since February this year and I see her once on average maybe every 3-4 weeks. So only 8 months later, and after approx 8-10 sessions with her is my body finally  “steady”. By steady she means my gut lining has healed, the candida my body had far too much of is dying off, my hormones are balanced and all my vitamin levels are looking great.

I share this with you guys to remind you that whilst we are all on our own seperate health discoveries and journeys, we all have one thing in common. And that is that it all takes time & persistance.

If you have just started your own specific life-style or way of eating, whether that’s either Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-free, Sugar free, eco-friendly etc, I urge you, PLEASE, do not give up. Change takes time and dedication and if you fall off the “I got this!” train one day, one week or hell even one month then just simply hop back on. No one is angry at you or disappointed in you, and if you feel that way then I can guarantee you that the figure that you see staring down at you with that look of dissapointment, is actually your own reflection in the mirror.

Failure is a bruise, not a tattoo. So stop punishing yourself. You are only human! And it is our greatest downfall that the last person we tend to look after and make time for is ourself.

I was always that person who put off going to get myself checked up. So I seriously mean it when I say that if I can do it, then I KNOW that you can too. Every day I have to keep working on myself and yes it does get hard! But with the knowledge and proof of just how much better my body is doing, damn it’s worth it.
